What the site had to do

METRON Fitness is run by Niko, a Melbourne personal trainer. The idea is simple: two structured gym workouts a week, with proper rest in between, for people who don't have the time or patience for complicated programs.

The website is the whole business. It has to explain the idea to a stranger, take a monthly payment and then deliver the workouts to members behind a login. A brochure site with a contact form wouldn't have been enough.

What we built

The public side of the site sells the membership. The private side is where members train from.

  • A home page that explains the method step by step
  • One plan, with the price on the first screen
  • Online sign-up with monthly card payments through Stripe
  • A member login and account area
  • Workouts laid out with sets, reps and rest times
  • About, contact, terms, privacy and cookie pages

One plan, one decision

Most fitness sites offer three or four tiers and leave the visitor to work out which one they need. METRON has one plan at one price, and it can be cancelled at any time. The price is in the first button on the home page, so nobody has to hunt for it.

The rest of the page deals with the reasons people give for not starting: no time, feeling out of place in a gym, plans that are too complicated. Each one gets a short, direct answer before the sign-up button comes round again.

Sign-up, payment and login

A visitor can go from the home page to a paid membership without talking to anyone. They create an account, pay by card through Stripe and land in the member area. Members can manage or cancel their subscription from their own account page.

The workouts are written for use in the gym, on a phone. Each one lists the exercises in order with the sets, the reps and how long to rest, so a member can walk in knowing exactly what to do.

The trainer's own words

The programs and the coaching content on the site are Niko's. Our job was to build the place they live in and make it easy for him to keep adding to it. That's how we handle any site where the client is the expert: the knowledge comes from you, and the structure, speed and design come from us.

If you're planning something similar, our ecommerce websites page covers online payments, and the pricing page explains how larger builds like this are quoted.

Results

The site is live and taking sign-ups, and you can visit it here. We haven't published member or revenue numbers because those belong to the client. If Niko is happy to share them later, they'll go on this page.
